Instant Lo-Fi Effect Rack

Hi, I’m glad you’re here. I also wanted to quickly explain how the Effect Rack is built.
There are 3 main components that contribute to the washed-out LoFi sound. The two filters are cutting of the lowest and the highest frequencies simulating that Low Fidelity sound from an old or vintage speaker, and the Frequency Shifter that will cause the sound to wobble like a stretched cassette tape or a cheap turntable (that can’t properly hold a rotation speed).
Other than that I’ve added Vinyl distortion module that adds a delicate warm saturation and doubles up as a crackle sound generator. All nicely controled with a convenient macros 😀
And at the end I’ve designed a short-decay reverb that can emulate a small room space. That also can be adjusted with the macros

I have spent the most time I think making sure that the Macro Mappings make some sense and for example we’re not cutting off all the frequencies just to hear… silence. The screenshot below can be a handy guide on what did I set up.

And here’s how to install it:

Simply download, unzip and copy to your User Library inside Ableton’s folder.

The target folder looks like that:

“path to your Ableton folder”/Ableton/User Library/Presets/Audio Effects/Audio Effect Rack

And if you don’t have that folder yet, Launch Ableton and the drift synth,  change any parameter inside the drift synth and click the little Save icon

Save the preset with your custom name and the folder will be created automatically.
