A cool and very useful Super Saw Lead that you can customize as much as you want. The main fun part is that it sounds very nice and rich but it doesn’t use any external effects. The only thing that makes the sound so rich is… Shimmer Unison!
It is super fast to design too. The main components are these 3 osciilators. Yes Three: Oscillator 1,2 and sub oscillator.
Osc 1 is set up to be the main ingredient – sawtooth wave. It is then enriched by Osc2:
That Osc2 is set up to be something between a triangle and a sawtooth. Then there’s only that Sub Oscillator pushed quite strong to the front!
Let’s go back for a second to see the rest of stuff done. Amp envelope basically left as it is by default.
Filter is one of the things that add the character to the sound. It cuts off some highs and a bit of lows. I’ve added some resonance to the F1 and a bit of drive to make it a bit sharper.
But feel free to experiment with the patch and add some distortion after, plus some delicate reverb and you’re onto something 😀
