Arturia Pigments – Modulating with Noise and Functions – Workshop
24 December 2023Ableton Wavetable – Heavenly Pad
13 March 2024Hi, Great to have you here!
The whole fun begins when you switch on the Super Powerful tool which is: sequencer module in Pigments. It looks like that:
The Sequencer inside Arturia Pigments synth is a powerful tool that allows you to create complex and intricate patterns with ease. It is a polyphonic sequencer/arpeggiator that can sync to rhythmic subdivisions relative to your project tempo and supports binary, dotted, and triplet values. It also has Swing and support for binary, dotted, and triplet feels, plus a straight BPM mode
With the sequencer, you can create patterns of odd lengths, and the dice icons in the tracks allow you to randomize the notes in the sequence. The DIV column allows you to divide the length of the step, and the PolyR button allows you to play chords.
You can use that Selection menu (below) to make sure your sequences will be aligned to a Scale. Pressing a G key on your keyboard (or inserting it in your Piano Roll) will make the Sequencer generate notes that are aligned to the Natural Minor G Scale. Everything is a matter of creative choice but you might want to start with a Tonic note of your song’s key.
You can use the sequencer to create a wide range of sounds, from simple bass lines to complex arpeggios. It is a great tool for creating rhythmic patterns that can add depth and complexity to your music. You can also use it to create evolving textures and soundscapes that change over time.
That’s it for this episode 🙂 Download the patch if you wish so and have fun with it. You can of course share with me what interesting sounds you have achieved 🙂
